Dogs Safety and Other Food Truths

Cats mostly need 11 important amino acids that needs to be provided for their diet. But in the same way, a dog needs only 10 amino acids. And, the one extra amino acid required by cat is taurine. So, to meet this greater nutrient requirement, the cat foods which are commercial ones, provide a greater protein, taurine, fat and others. But the same is not there in the dog food. Also, this implies that all the dog foods that are commercial are nutritionally deficient for the cats, and the cats cannot eat the dog food. Besides all of that, greater fat contents and protein in a cat food, can make the it more fragrant and tastier for the dogs to consume and thereby enticing the dogs to eat the cat food and exceed the dog’s nutrient requirement.

Cat Food and Safety Concerns

Now, a dog consuming the food of cats, whether on an occasionally or otherwise, is not necessarily bad. Besides all of that, for some dogs who are battling cancer, or have weight loss or muscle issue or poor appetite for them, cat food may be an alternative. Besides all of that, cat food tends to be more edible and also, provides calories per serving and they provide a more nutrient and a balanced choice compared to several home-made food. Similarly, cat food can be healthy and well-balanced treat compared to the human food like chicken, cheese, peanut butter or the one which provides a concentrated amount of nutrient. Consuming cat foods can be pretty problematic due to the reason such excess protein or fat. For instance, a dog who is sensitive with GIT may start to vomit or have diarrhoea after eating the cat food. Next, a dog with kidney or liver problem may need to eat moderate amount of protein to promote the minimum functioning of the organs and so on.
